Something's been nagging at me ever since I heard the story about the guy who blew up his house (Nicholas Bartha). However, much of what I picked up was on the teevee news, which makes the research more difficult.
Who the hell CC's their suicide note to Sean Hannity, Brit Hume and Joe Scarbo? Only a dedicated fan would think of it -- someone who believes those guys are looking out for him.
After hearing about the addressees, I had to go read the email for myself. It's a mish-mash of bitter complaints - personal, work-related and political. His political rantings are entirely familiar -- an encyclopedia of outrage from Fox News and right wing websites. His very last P.S. was about Cindy Sheehan, as if he almost, almost forgot to call her a traitor before he blew himself up.
This Daily News article talks about Bartha's love for his "precious building," but his email concerns itself with perceived injustice. He was furious at the Democratic judge who believed his wife's lies.
Why I cannot trust this judges. How do you become a judge in N.Y.S?
First you prove you are trustworthy =Politically Correct. You work for years for a Union, Legal Aid, A.C.L.U, and Housing Court before you apply. In the case of Judge Lobis it was even easier because she was open gay lesbian attorney in the 1980's and she was asked to apply (www6.low.com.) to be a judge to insure diversity! When you apply you will be interview by seating judges and the Chief Administrative Judge. After one went through this screening processes at the end you must see the Chair Of the City Bar Judiciary Comity where you have to show assurance you will use the court for political activism create new interpretation of the low disregard the constitution. I see it this way; the respect of the Constitution is not a consideration at all.
It is not a fully correct interpretation but it is close.
This is I am sure part of the American dream now legislated by the Supreme Court in 2005 the Eminent Domain low to takeaway private property for private development not for community use. Now in 2006 we see the results of this legislation.
For some reason this man's plight is heartbreaking to me. Perhaps it's because my Mom has also become a Fox News addict and I see how it has made her more of an angry person. The steady diet of outrage has robbed her of the serenity she used to have.
The RWM constantly tells its adherents that they have a right to their outrage. That they have the right -- no the duty to place blame on the demonized du jour. But they don't provide their true believers any way out when rage doesn't work.
Edit: In case my word choice is confusing, Mr. Bartha didn't succeed in blowing himself up.
